Feature definitions

What Shopping MCP does, tool by tool

Each feature maps to one MCP tool your assistant can call. This page is the working definition we build against, and it will stay current as the server ships.

Verified coupons

Launch

Codes that actually work

Coupon lookup returns the active codes for a store along with the conditions (minimum spend, exclusions, expiry) and a freshness score based on recent redemptions. The assistant can explain the fine print before you reach checkout instead of after a code fails.

Try asking: “Any working coupon codes for Wayfair right now?”

Price comparison

Launch

The same item, every store, one answer

Price comparison matches a product across retailers using identifiers (UPC, model number, GTIN) and surfaces the lowest total cost rather than the lowest sticker price. The response includes stock status and delivery estimates so the assistant can factor in “need it by Friday”.

Try asking: “Compare the Dyson V15 across Best Buy, Amazon, Target and Dyson.com.”

Cash back activation

Launch

Cash back, activated in conversation

Cash back activation creates a tracked affiliate link tied to your Shopping MCP wallet. When the retailer reports the sale, the commission is split with you and shown as pending until the return window closes. The assistant can tell you the rate, any category exclusions, and when the cash back will confirm.

Try asking: “Activate cash back at Nike and give me the link.”

Price tracking and alerts

Next

Buy at the right moment

Price tracking stores a watch with a target price and optional retailer filter. Alerts are delivered by email and, where the platform supports it, pushed back into the assistant so your next conversation starts with “The headphones you're watching dropped to $279.”

Try asking: “Watch this TV and tell me if it drops under $900 before Black Friday.”

Cash back wallet

Launch

See what you've earned without leaving the chat

The wallet tool exposes balance, recent transactions and payout status so the assistant can answer “how much cash back do I have?” and initiate a payout. Transaction detail includes the store, order estimate, rate applied and expected confirmation date.

Try asking: “How much cash back do I have pending, and when does it pay out?”

Store intelligence

Launch

Know the store before you commit

Store intelligence gives the assistant the context a savvy shopper carries in their head: this store price-matches, that one has free returns, this one runs a sitewide sale every second Tuesday. It also exposes category-level cash back rates so recommendations can be accurate for things like electronics versus apparel.

Try asking: “Does Lululemon price match, and what's their cash back rate?”

Cart handoff

Next

From “buy it” to checkout in one tap

Cart handoff builds a retailer cart URL (where the retailer supports deep-linked carts) with coupon pre-applied and the tracked cash back link wrapped around it. This is the foundation for agentic checkout once platforms expose payment hand-offs to connectors.

Try asking: “Put the size 10 in my cart with the 15% code and the cash back link.”

Privacy by design

Launch

Your AI never sees your card. We never see your chat.

The MCP server is stateless beyond your wallet and watches. Conversation content stays with the AI platform; only tool calls (a search term, a store name, a product ID) reach Shopping MCP. We do not sell personal data, and you can delete your wallet and history from any connected assistant.

Try asking: “What data does Shopping MCP keep about me?”
