What is an MCP server?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to outside tools. Shopping MCP is an MCP server: once connected, your assistant can search deals, check coupons and activate cash back as part of a normal conversation.
Which AI assistants work with Shopping MCP?+
Claude and ChatGPT connect today with a custom connector URL. Microsoft Copilot (via Copilot Studio and VS Code) and Gemini (via Gemini CLI) are in early access. Grok is available to developers through the xAI API, with app support planned.
Is it free?+
Yes. Shopping MCP is free for shoppers. Retailers pay us a commission when you buy through a tracked link, and we share that commission with you as cash back.
How does cash back get paid?+
When a retailer confirms your purchase (usually after the return window), the cash back moves from pending to confirmed. Once your confirmed balance reaches the payout threshold you can withdraw to PayPal, a bank account or a gift card, right from your assistant.
Do I need a browser extension?+
No. Everything happens inside the conversation. Your assistant gives you a tracked link when you're ready to buy, and you check out at the retailer as usual.
What does Shopping MCP see?+
Only the tool calls your assistant makes: a search term, a store name, a product identifier. We never see your conversation, your payment details or your retailer login.
Can I use it in more than one assistant?+
Yes. Sign in with the same account on each platform and your wallet, watches and history stay in sync.
